How to get the look you want
When it comes to hair it’s a sad fact that we often crave what we’re not naturally blessed with. But that doesn’t mean the hair of your dreams is out of reach… it’s simply a case of practice makes perfect.
To blow dry straight hair curly
Pump a blob of volumising hair mousse into towel dried hair. Sunsilk’s Blow Drying Aid Mousse is non-sticky and will help add bounce and hold.
Tip your head forward, allowing your hair to fall over your face, and blast the roots with your hairdryer for a minute. Don’t let it dry completely, you still want it to remain a little damp, but this is a sure-fire way to add even more volume.
Throw your hair back and wind a small section – an inch in width at most – around a barrel brush. Hold it in place and aim the dryer there, moving it up and down the strands to avoid intense heat in one small area. Repeat with the rest of your hair. It takes patience but you’ll soon see cascading curls appear.
Finish by fixing with Sunsilk’s Staying Power Strong Hold Hairspray. Wait a minute for the spray to dry completely before raking your fingers through your hair for a naturally tousled effect.
To blow dry curly hair straight
Straight hair looks best when it’s ultra glossy, so try Sunsilk’s Silky and Straight Leave-in Conditioner to give your blow-dried locks day-long shine, and smoothe Sunsilk’s Easy Straightening Cream through your towel-dried hair. It fights frizz to make your job a lot easier!
Gently run a vented paddle brush through your damp hair. The vents allow your hairdryer’s hot air to get to the strands more easily, making for a faster finish.
Taking one section at a time, run the brush slowly through your hair, aiming the dryer downwards at each section, just above the brush, to smoothe and maximise shine. To give your finished, straight style extra longevity, take a tip from hairdressers and blast your blow dry with your hairdryer’s cold shot setting.
