Financial and sustainability reporting

For a wide-ranging overview of Unilever, its brands and financial results as well as its sustainability commitments, go to the Annual Report and Accounts 2008, and the Sustainable Development Report.

Financial reporting

Unilever's 2008 financial reports have now been published as a suite of three print publications: the Annual Report and Accounts, Annual Review and Summary Financial Statement. All three are also available on-line.

This year, the Annual Report, which provides detailed information on our business, brands and financial results, has a lively feel, using plenty of colour and photography. The same goes for the more concise Annual Review, which has been designed in magazine style, and comes to life through case studies covering our company, brands and people.

Both of these documents also contain sections on Unilever's social and environmental impacts – recognising how crucial these are to our business. Meanwhile, the Summary Financial Statement provides an overview of essential legal and financial information.

Sustainability reporting

The Sustainable Development Overview shows how we make sustainability a priority across the company.  It describes how we are helping people adopt better nutrition and hygiene habits, while supporting sustainable agriculture, conserving water, fighting climate change and rethinking packaging.

The Overview complements Unilever's much more detailed Sustainable Development Report, which saves paper by only being accessible on-line. The Report is a rich source of information on important issues such as occupational and consumer safety and our work to promote sustainability with suppliers and customers.

"We've enhanced this year's financial and sustainability reporting to demonstrate Unilever's commitment to sustainability – a commitment that's kept us at the top of the foods sector of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for the past 10 years," says Gavin Neath, Senior Vice President, Global Communications.

"We're the only company to have achieved this and we're continuing to develop our sustainability credentials to build our business and our reputation."
